Ooredoo is delighted to welcome its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Bassam Al Ibrahim. Bassam brings over 20 years of experience gained in roles across the telecoms industry.

Bassam arrives in Oman from Ooredoo Algeria where, as CEO, his strategic leadership saw the company thrive, despite a challenging macroeconomic environment. He has also held a number of positions in Ooredoo Group since 2013, including Deputy Chief Procurement Officer – Strategic Sourcing. This is in addition to several senior positions in the areas of telecoms, information technology, project management and procurement at many multi-national organisations. He has also served as a board member of Ooredoo Oman.

With an MBA from HEC in Paris, and a BEng in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Essex, UK, Bassam brings his wealth of knowledge to steer Ooredoo into the next phase of its strategy. This will be focused on continuing to drive the country’s digital transformation and catering the ever-evolving communications needs of people and businesses across the country, in line with Oman’s 2040 Vision.

We extend our congratulations to Bassam on his new appointment and wish him the best of luck.

We take this opportunity to thank former Ooredoo Oman CEO Noor Al-Sulaiti for her service.
