Ooredoo and the Oman Cancer Association bring mobile screening to women and support families of children with cancer

Muscat, Oman
Ooredoo and the Oman Cancer Association (OCA) have brought free mobile breast cancer screening to women in Muscat as Pink Month activities continue.
The mobile screening is part of Ooredoo’s Pink Month community initiative with the OCA, which also supports children undergoing cancer treatment and their families.
A mobile unit visited Muscat Grand Mall and will be visiting Al Khaboura soon, offering free mammograms to women aged 40 and over alongside information on breast cancer awareness. Taking screening to where women already are makes an essential service easier to reach and supports earlier diagnosis and timely treatment.
Said Al-Mawali, Director of Marketing at Ooredoo, said: “A free mammogram in her own community can make all the difference for a woman, as seen in the higher-than-expected turnout during the free screening held at Muscat Grand Mall last weekend. For a family travelling from outside Muscat for their child’s treatment, Dar Al Hanan means having somewhere to stay together, with meals and transport provided. Our Pink Month support is about making screening easier to access and helping parents be there for their children during treatment.”
Ooredoo is also making a financial contribution to the OCA in support of Dar Al Hanan, the Home Away from Home for children with cancer who live outside Muscat. Open 24 hours a day, it welcomes patients from infancy and above for their families, providing free accommodation, three meals a day and transport to and from treatment at the Royal Hospital and Sultan Qaboos University Hospital. Ooredoo’s contribution helps keep these services running, so families from across Oman can stay together while their children receive treatment. The Ooredoo team visited the children to spend time with them and hand out gifts.
Pink Month activities also include the OCA’s annual two-day Walkathon at Qurum National Park on 29 and 30 October, where Ooredoo will stand in solidarity with everyone affected by cancer.
