Ooredoo has won Best in Network Innovation at the 5th TAS Oman Business Awards 2026 for its network technology and digital infrastructure across Oman.
The award reflects Ooredoo’s continued investment in modernising its network. Over the past year, the company has strengthened its 5G capabilities through initiatives including the Middle East’s first live trial of dual-band MetaAAU technology. It has also expanded national and international connectivity through a new high-capacity DWDM network. These developments increase capacity, improve resilience and deliver more consistent digital experiences for customers and businesses.
Dr. Jihad bin Ahmed Al-Ansari, Chief Technology and Information Officer at Ooredoo Oman, said: “Network innovation only matters when people can feel it. Over the past year our upgrades and live trials have delivered speed gains of more than 30% in crowded indoor spaces such as malls and offices, smoother 5G gaming, and stronger international links that support Oman’s position as a regional digital hub. This award belongs to the teams and partners who turn these technologies into everyday experiences for the people and businesses we serve.”
The impact is also reflected in independent network performance measures. Earlier this year, Ookla named Ooredoo the Best 5G Gaming Experience Award in Oman for Q3 to Q4 2025, following analysis of more than 76,000 consumer-initiated tests from over 15,000 users across the country. These developments form part of Ooredoo’s investment in a smarter and more resilient network. They support everyday connectivity and strengthen the infrastructure underpinning Oman’s digital transformation.
