Ooredoo participated as one of the sponsors of the Middle East Space Conference (MESC) 2026, reinforcing its role in supporting Oman’s ambition to emerge as a key player in the regional space ecosystem. The three-day summit was held in Muscat and delivered in partnership between the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) and Novaspace.
The three-day summit drew over 500 delegates and world-class speakers, serving as a high-level intersection for senior decision-makers and innovators. Ooredoo was represented at a senior leadership level, with Chief Executive Officer Saoud Al Riyami attending the event and engaging with regional and international stakeholders. These engagements took place across a programme designed to drive strategic dialogue, curated networking, and investment-led collaboration within the regional space ecosystem.
Saoud Al Riyami, CEO of Ooredoo, remarked: “Developing a credible space ecosystem requires effective integration between policies, investment and long-term digital capabilities to align their plans and maximize this sector’s contribution to the GDP. Platforms such as MESC play an important role in creating that alignment, and in positioning Oman as a serious partner in the regional and global space economy.”
Ooredoo’s sponsorship reflects its alignment with Oman’s strategic vision for space as a driver of economic diversification, advanced connectivity, and innovation-led growth. Through its participation, Ooredoo supported the creation of an environment that brings together policymakers, industry leaders, and investors to translate ambition into tangible partnerships. Ooredoo’s participation also reflects its support for the path of digital transformation and the knowledge economy, which aligns with Oman Vision 2040 that prioritizes building a diversified and sustainable economy based on technology and innovation, while enhancing the Sultanate’s position as a regional hub for science, space, and future communications.
