Muscat regional winners join champions from Nizwa and Sohar at the Grand Final, to be held at Muscat Grand Mall
Muscat, Oman
The Ooredoo E-Sports Cup 2026 has crowned its Muscat regional champions, completing a nationwide qualifying journey that now sets the stage for Oman’s first national e-sports championship. From Thursday 21 to Saturday 23 May, nine teams from Nizwa, Sohar and Muscat will go head-to-head at Muscat Grand Mall across Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Valorant and League of Legends, in three days of live competition open to the public.
The Muscat qualifiers, held on 8 May, marked the final regional stop in a journey that began in Nizwa last March. Muscat’s champions now carry the weight of the capital into a Grand Final that brings together the strongest competitive gaming talent from across the Sultanate.
Competing across Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Valorant and League of Legends, the Muscat qualifiers delivered a strong demonstration of the capital’s gaming talent. Team Rustaq emerged as Muscat’s Call of Duty champions, Team Vamos took the League of Legends title, and Team Yolo claimed the Valorant crown, each earning their place on the Grand Final stage.
Reflecting on the milestone, Jaffar Khamis Al Khaburi, Acting Chief Commercial Officer at Ooredoo Oman, noted:
“Competitive gaming in Oman has always had the talent, driven by a generation of young players. What it lacked was a stage worthy of it. The Ooredoo E-Sports Cup exists to give that talent the platform it deserves. And what we are seeing in these nine finalist teams is proof that when you build the foundation, excellence follows.”
Each regional champion will compete for a grand prize of 1,000 OMR per title, alongside national recognition as one of the tournament’s first champions.
The Ooredoo E-Sports Cup 2026 is presented by Ooredoo Oman in partnership with Oman Broadband, with every match played over a fibre network engineered for the low-latency, high-throughput conditions competitive gaming demands. The tournament spans multiple cities, including Nizwa, Sohar and Muscat.
The Grand Final takes place at Muscat Grand Mall from 21 to 23 May. League of Legends opens the championship on Thursday evening, Valorant and Call of Duty semi-finals follow on Friday afternoon, and Saturday brings all three Grand Finals back-to-back, culminating in the closing ceremony.
For audiences, the Grand Final is more than a tournament. It is three days of festival atmosphere at Muscat Grand Mall, with food stalls, family activities, and youth-focused games and events running alongside the main competition stage. The action builds towards Saturday’s closing ceremony, when Oman’s first national e-sports champions will be crowned. Entry is free and open to the public, and the competition will also be streamed live for fans across the Sultanate on:

Ooredoo’s commitment to Oman’s gaming community extends beyond the tournament. The company’s mobile network was recognised with the Best 5G Gaming Experience Award, Q3 to Q4 2025 by Ookla, supporting gamers across the Sultanate whether they are competing on stage or playing from home.
