Muscat, Oman
As part of supporting Oman’s digital drive, Ooredoo has announced its participation as the Digital Innovation Partner at COMEX 2025, the Sultanate’s largest technology and digital transformation exhibition, scheduled to run from 8 to 11 September at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Center. Ooredoo’s presence will highlight its commitment to driving innovation and enabling Oman’s digital future in line with Vision 2040.
This year’s participation comes at a defining moment for Ooredoo, following the appointment of Saoud Al Riyami as the company’s first Omani Chief Executive Officer. With more than two decades of experience in ICT solutions, business sales, and wholesale operations within Ooredoo, Al Riyami’s leadership signals a new era for the company as it strengthens its role in empowering the nation’s digital economy.
“I am honored to lead Ooredoo at a time when digital transformation is accelerating across the Sultanate. Our role as Digital Innovation Partner at COMEX reflects our deep commitment to empowering Oman’s digital ecosystem. Through transformative initiatives, we are enhancing digital experiences, enabling innovation, and supporting the Sultanate’s journey toward a smarter, more inclusive economy.” said Al Riyami.
In recent months, Ooredoo has accelerated its transformation journey through several major initiatives. The launch of walletii, an advanced mobile wallet app, has revolutionised digital payments in Oman by combining remittance services, bill payments, and airtime top-ups rewards in one seamless platform. At the same time, Ooredoo has been implementing a comprehensive digital transformation programme, upgrading its billing, charging, and CRM systems to deliver faster, real-time customer experiences.
Ooredoo is also investing heavily in partnerships with global technology leaders. Through its collaboration with Google Cloud, Ooredoo aims to create new opportunities for developers and enterprises across the Sultanate. Futhermore, Ooredoo has partnerned with Nvidia to equip Ooredoo’s data centres with GPU and AI-ready infrastructure, enabling businesses across the Sultanate to benefit from the latest advances in artificial intelligence and cloud computing.
At COMEX 2025, Ooredoo will showcase its latest portfolio of digital solutions aligned with the digital aspirations of Vision 2040. By supporting this flagship event, Ooredoo continues to play a vital role in shaping Oman’s technology landscape and driving forward the digital aspirations of businesses, communities, and individuals alike.
