Roaming Tips!

Before travel

  1. Make sure to pay your bills to avoid any sudden interruption in service.
  2. Check your current package to see if it includes a valid roaming package for use in your travel destination (this service is available to existing and new Shahry Unlimited and Omanuna customers.)
  3. Check your mobile phone settings: Make sure to turn off the roaming option before arriving at your destination.

On Arrival

  1. Switch on roaming on your phone after arrival, as it may be deactivated by default, and therefore you will need to activate it manually.
  2. Restarting the phone or resetting the settings can help you solve the network problem temporarily and reactivate your device’s connection to the network.

How to switch on Data Roaming!

  1. iPhone:
  2. Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data Options → Roaming Data → On/Off
  1. Android:
  2. Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data Options → Roaming Data → On/Off

‘Roam like Home’ allows you to use your local internet and voice benefits in the GCC, and many countries internationally.

How does the usage work during roaming?

1.From your Ooredoo Passport allowance

Data and voice would be used from your ‘Passport’ allowance, if any.

2.From your ‘Roam like Home’ allowance

Next, data and voice would be used from your Roam like Home (RLH) allowance, if in a RLH covered country and you should be connected to a RLH participating network RLH list link .

Data would be used from your Passport World roaming plan allowance, if any.

Please go through the terms to understand the benefits better.

  • • Our Passport bundle prices are exclusive of VAT. Since 16 April 2021, 5% VAT has been added in line with government regulations.
  • • Placing a national or international call or SMS: You are charged according to the operator tariff in the country where you are located.
  • • Receiving a call from Oman or any other country: If receiving an international call from Oman to the country where you are located, you will be charged according to Ooredoo’s international mobile tariff.
  • • Receiving an SMS while roaming is free of charge.
  • • Freedom to roam bundle is usually activated automatically FREE OF CHARGE when you reach the limit of OMR 24 roaming usage to prevent you from bill shock.
  • • Use your main internet and voice in the GCC and other countries (30 countries).
  • • Roam like Home FUP is 10 GB monthly.
  • • The minutes usage includes making calls within the destination you are visiting, calling back to Oman, and receiving calls. However, it does not include international calls.
  • • Roaming partners/FUP is subject to change.
  • • Roam like Home is available in the following countries and with these operators
  • • Roam like Home in O Plus 10 is only applicable to GCC destinations.
